The Horse has arrived.. An aggressive one..

31st January 2014 marked the new lunar year in the Chinese Calendar, which welcomes the year of the Horse. According to the website http://www.travelchinaguide.com, it quotes “The spirit of the horse is recognized to be the Chinese people’s ethos – making unremitting efforts to improve themselves. It is energetic, bright, warm-hearted, intelligent and able. Ancient people liked to designate an able person as ‘Qianli Ma’, a horse that covers a thousand li a day (one li equals 500 meters).”

I’m not chinese and neither do I believe ancient Chinese zodiacal beliefs, but neither am I discarding it as well. I’m well exposed to the art of Feng Shui but neither am I a 100% believer, and I do not discard or disregard it 100% as well. Even in Islam, it teaches us to gather and learn as much knowledge as possible, even up to China. But for me, the year of the Horse surely made major impact in my life even from day one.

Firstly, I learnt that I had been betrayed by my foreign partner (which I had graciously helped him during his troubled times, and provided massive monetary assistance for him to get back on track, yet when the opportunity comes knocking on our door, he tried to sway it towards his personal gain). This resulted to his expulsion from our company. On the positive note, due to his removal, I had secured a new management team line up which were much stronger than before. We also secured new local investors, which were hesitant to participate with us due to my ex-partner’s affiliation…

Then, my brother met with a minor accident while doing his weekly road bike cycling session on DUKE. If it was on a normal road, it would have not been a great deal, but for the fact that he fell on the middle of the highway, it was very fortunate that at that point of time, the traffic were very scarce. Had the traffic been much heavier, it would have been a more disastrous story. Then about a week after the accident, someone actually climbed the gate and stole his Giant TCR Advance road bike.. Estimated market value is RM 4,000.

ImageSo anyone of you should discover or been offered cheap Giant bike like the one pictured above, either on Bicyclebuysell.com, mudah.my or any other community sites, please be very vigilant. It might be my brother’s stolen bike.

About 3 days after the bike stealing incident, my whole family, myself included, had diarrhea and fever. My niece even had dengue… Shortly after that, there was another scare when my aunt aged 70, had a serious allergy to a newly prescribed medicine by a Specialist Doctor attached to a Private Hospital in Kuala Lumpur. She went into muscle spasm and seizures, stopped breathing for about 2 minutes, and was foaming from the mouth only after 5 minutes of consuming the antibiotics. She was taken to the ER, where the emergency personnel flushed her stomach, and revived her. After about 10 hours in the ICU, she was released and transferred to a normal ward, and released for home about 3 days later. When we visited her, my Uncle was clearly distraught, but him being him, still played jokes on others..

WIth all these incidents within such a short period of time, and it so happens to be the beginning of the Horse year.. All I can gather is that the horse surely starts the year with a kick to everyone’s butt.. WIth hope, that with such forbearance at the beginning of it, it would eventually lead to positive change and prosperity, based on the saying, “susah susah dahulu sekarang, senang senang nanti kemudian”… (which translates to go through hardship now, and you will gain prosper later)…

What say you?
